Do you deliver hired tools in Castleford?
Yes — we deliver across Castleford and the surrounding area. Delivery cost depends on your location and is confirmed when we call to arrange your hire. Same-day collection is also available from our Hunt St depot (WF10 1NS) during opening hours.
What areas do you deliver to?
We deliver across Castleford, Wakefield, Pontefract, Normanton, Knottingley, Featherstone, and the surrounding WF postcode area. If you are just outside these towns, call us on 01977 513821 and we will quote you — we cover most of the Five Towns and wider West Yorkshire.
Can I hire tools for just one day?
Yes. We offer a single day rate on every item in the catalogue. If you need it longer, each additional day is charged at 40% of the day rate, and after five paid days the total caps at our weekly rate (2× the day rate). One-day hires must be collected and returned within our opening hours (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm).
Is there a weekend hire rate? How does it work?
Yes — our weekend rate is 1.25× the standard day rate and covers collection from 2pm on Friday through to 10am on Monday. It is a flat one-off charge and only applies to hires that follow that Friday-to-Monday pattern. It is often the cheapest option for a weekend project.
Are you open on Saturdays?
No. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and bank holidays. If you need equipment across the weekend, collect it on Friday (our weekend rate covers you until Monday 10am) or use our delivery service.
Are your prices inclusive of VAT?
No — all hire rates shown on the website and in our price list are exclusive of VAT. VAT is added at the standard UK rate (currently 20%) on your final invoice. Account customers are invoiced as usual; walk-in customers pay VAT-inclusive at the counter.
What does the 15% insurance surcharge cover?
The 15% surcharge is our damage waiver. It covers accidental damage to the equipment while it is on hire, so you are not billed for the full replacement or repair cost if something goes wrong. It does not cover loss, theft, or misuse. The surcharge is waived for approved account customers — call us on 01977 513821 to open an account.
What happens if the equipment breaks down during my hire?
Call us straight away on 01977 513821. If the breakdown is a fault with the equipment rather than misuse, we will swap it out or repair it as quickly as possible and you will not be charged for the downtime. Do not attempt a repair yourself — it can void the hire agreement.
